Yes, there are environmental issues concerning wind turbines, but I feel there aren’t as many as using non-renewable sources of energy. I support wind energy and I find stories like this encouraging.

The current Ford Escape gets around 30MPG which makes it the most fuel efficient SUV “on the planet” as Ford describes. Kudos. Now, imagine the ability to plug this hybrid in to a standard power socket and charge its batteries while you are sleeping. “Well aren’t you still using a non-renewable resource to fuel the vehicle?” Of course. But this is a good thing for many reasons, but here’s two I can think of. One, we use domestic coal to produce our electricity and not foreign oil (I know it’s still dirty). But most importantly, people like me who buy non-polluting, renewable energy can use this hybrid to get around 124MPG!
