Mountains
Hiked two “high peaks” in the Adirondacks – Cascade and Porter. A high peak is over 4,000 feet, small to some people, but a nice climb none the less. This was a fairly easy hike and the view was amazing! Here are some note-worthy pics.
Mount Ampersand is located in the northern part of the Adirondacks near Saranac Lake. Mike Turns and I hiked 2.8 miles to the summit (3,250 feet) and back. Conditions were wet and sloppy, but towards the summit, the trail was icy. Cramp-ons would have been nice on this journey. They would have kept my butt [...]
